A Little Different

While think of ways to tell you guys about my latest ” Though Provoking Picture” I decided to try some thing a little different, instead of me making video and telling you what to see in my art work. I am give you guys the chance to let me know what the picture means to you. What do you feel? what emotion does it strike in you? what do you think the meaning is? Does it make you want to change or do something? So please take the time to look closely at every detail and remember the first thing that pops into your head and post a comment letting me know what it is. Chewy Candy for the Week

For me quotes and psalms are like a piece of chewy, sticky, candy . When you pop them in your mouth they get stuck on your teeth, you have to work at it to get it unstuck, but you still enjoy the sweetness well working at it. Quotes make you think. They can wrap up some ones worldview in a sentence Psalms make you ponder your life and what you are doing with it. This is the first quote of a weekly post that I will be doing so enjoy and don’t worry you can’t get a stomach ache from this candy.

Inspiration

Well I have surfaced from the chaos and confusion that has been my life for the past month, what was the chaos well my big sister got married it is amazing how much planing and preparation  goes into one day. One things I noticed in the planing of the wedding was that all the decorating was inspired by a book, magazine someone else wedding, that got me thanking where do most artist get their inspiration. I did some research I look at some of the old greek and roman art finding that most of their art was inspired by the human body

then I did a more modern search and found that most artist today get inspired from emotionsAfter all my research I still had one thing was still had one question, me as a Christian artist where should I get my inspiration?  most people would simple answer the Bible, so I went back and researched some more, most Christian art inspired by the Bible was either really old or  was really weird  and most of the art was very hard to understand. I thank why most of them were hard to understand  was that the artist spiritualized everything.So yes I could get my inspiration from the Bible and try to make it as clear as possible but then I thought why not get inspired  from the person that inspired  the Bible God. So my goal this year is to ask God what He would like me to paint. it’s going to take  a while to get used to stop and pray every time I started to draw. My prayer time in the morning from now on is going to be done with sketch book in lap and pencil in hand. I’ll keep you posted on how it turns out but for now stand strong in speech, conduct, purity, and faith. CHAZAQ

Tap, Push, SLAP

It’s that time the New Year, time for new year resolutions,promises and starting over. For me it is starting over, yesterday my pastor did a sermon on Ecclesiastes a verse that caught my attention was “Ecc 1:2 Vanity of vanities says the Preacher, vanity of vanities, all is vanity” the word Vanity is translated breath that was the TAP. Then there was  verse 1:10 “Is there anything of which one might say, See this, it is new”? Already it has existed for ages.Which were before us”. Me being an artist my mind is always trying to come up with something new and different so this verse was kind of hard for me to wrap my mind around that was the PUSH. then SLAP. Do you ever get that filling that you just got slapped in the face by God, a sort of wake up call that hurts.  Looking back on 2009 I noticed that I slowly gotten caught up in the world and what it says life should be when really I was not LIVING at all. Thank you God for your never ending forgiveness and stead fast  love. I pray for this coming year that you will live in Christ the core of life and that you will have the courage to stand strong in a crazy world.  CHAZAQ!!!!
